Readings in Greek Literature & Poetry

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This advanced course aims at giving attendees an insight into the wealth of Greek literature and poetry. Kazantzakis, Elytis (1979 Nobel Prize in Literature), Ritsos, Kavafis and Seferis (1963 Nobel Prize in Literature) are only a few of the great literary figures of Modern Greek literature, whose work will be studied. Their works have been translated into a number of languages.

The course includes 2 outings per week which link in perfectly with the topics discussed in the seminars.

Set start dates. Minimum 1 week.

Greek

This weekly course is aimed at advanced users of the Modern Greek language.  We will help students practise Modern Greek through engaging material and activities while enjoying their holidays on Corfu island.

Special focus

Students spend their days in small groups, using specially-designed material and worksheets. Students work on structure and communication and work on a number of projects. Two outings per week is included within the programme and is part of the course.
